Josh + Kayla | A Beach Proposal

I absolutely ADORE surprises. They’re a favorite. Definitely a favorite, especially if they are heartfelt and well planned! So, when Josh came to me and told me about a little surprise he had for his sweet girlfriend Kayla, I may have let out a squeal or two.

Or five.Josh explained that Kayla was the love of his life, and he wanted to make her his forever…. And theeeeeeeen he showed me the ring.

He continued with their story, how he fell in love with her and how the Lord had showed himself in Kayla each and every day.

Golly I love love.

Then he told me about his proposal plan- and the squealing continued.

After a week at Disney World celebrating Kayla’s birthday, Josh wanted to take her to Orange Beach, Alabama and walk along the shore. After telling her his heart, he wanted to get on one knee and pray over her. Then, he wanted to ask her the ultimate question. As soon as he got on one knee, he wanted his good friend, Andrew, to appear and play “Nothin’ Fancy” By Dave Barnes.

And he wanted me to capture the whole thing.

Fast forward to Saturday….

Andrew and I made our way to Orange Beach, Alabama. We found the spot where Josh planned on popping the question and waited….

Waiting is the WORST part about a surprise. I’m pretty sure we were more nervous than Josh!

Then we saw them, and Andrew and I got into stealth mode. With hats and sunglasses on, we suddenly became a couple walking the beach, arm in arm. As Josh and Kayla got closer to the spot, we grabbed our gear that we had hidden. With guitar and camera in hand, we sneaked closer and then….

HE GOT ON ONE KNEE AND WE RAN FOR IT!

All I can say, is that I am one of the most blessed women on the face of God’s good earth.

Andrew did such a great job!It was such a beautiful, raw, and intimate series of moments….

She couldn’t stop looking at her finger … <3 ahhh!Needless to say Andrew and I loved being a part of this special surprise- Josh…. You did such a great job!Isn’t it GORGEOUS?! He was so thrilled… 🙂
