Black Tie Wedding at the Grand Hotel in Point Clear, Alabama – Mary Michael + William

There’s really nothing quite as magical as a Southern wedding, is there? Mary Michael and William’s wedding day was full of special moments and intimate details that created a magic that would rival any fairytale.

Mary Michael and William chose traditional, Southern details to compliment their venues and style. Mary Michael was stunning in her gorgeous bridal gown with lace overlay and satin button details. Her elegant gown was purchased from one of the most popular and chic bridal shops in Mountainbrook- Ivory and White Boutique.  Blush and gold hues adorned the bridal party and show-stopping florals – white ranunculus, hydrangeas, and roses, pink roses and peonies, and sprigs of eucalyptus. These dreamy florals were arranged by none other than the ever talented Wildflowers, Fairhope.

The couple hosted their wedding ceremony at the stunning St. Francis at the Point in Fairhope, Alabama.  St. Francis at the Point has become a consistently popular location for Southern Alabama brides and it’s so easy to see why.  The classic nature of the ceremony spot, paired with its reverence is the perfect ceremony location for Christian brides.

The newlyweds continued their celebration at The Grand Hotel –  a beautiful venue located on Mobile Bay. Adorned with gorgeous landscaping and lush greenery, the venue also boasts an iconic and engaging history making it a perfect location for any Alabama wedding.  Guests enjoyed a magnificent reception filled with the yummiest food, the most incredible reception band, and fun activities like an interactive photo booth.

Mary Michael and Williams wedding day was so tastefully planned by Jenna Laine and her crew.  It was easily one of the most magnificent weddings of the summer!

Its finally starting to warm up here in Virginia! Its finally starting to warm up here in Virginia! Judah and I went to the local nursery last week & picked up a few herbs and other plants. 🌿🌸🤍
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
During my social media break, Dave built some raised bed planters and I have never been so excited to fill something with dirt !! Its going to be so fun planting & playing in the dirt with my little guy!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For the first time everrrr I've germinated a few seeds and they are starting to sprout!! Just look at these little guys!
hey, friend !👋🏻 It’s me, Anna. After a cr hey, friend !👋🏻
It’s me, Anna. After a crazy hard winter, I decided to take a little sabbatical from social media for Lent and it helped reset my heart in so many ways!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I definitely missed the social aspect of social media though. I missed YOU. Prioritizing people and connecting with others is such a big ole part of my heart. Now that I've taken a little break, I feel like I can do that better than I did before-- and for that I'm grateful.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
With less time scrolling during my heavy season, I've felt less stressed and frazzled. It's been easier to find joy in the day, and soak up the little gems of gratitude throughout it. My heart has been quieter, and therefore more receptive to hear the Lord's voice. Here are three takeaways from this little venture:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Life works in seasons. There is a beginning, a middle and an end to everything.
2. Seasons of pruning are often the Lords way to preparing us for substantial growth.
3. Sometimes, waiting patiently is the bravest, and most courageous thing you can do. (Psalm 27:14)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m excited to connect again. It’s good to be back 🤍
Hoppy Easter Sunday from our family to yours ! 🌸🐰🌿🐣 Jesus is ALIVE !!
Ya'll. I absolutely love Valentines Day. There. Ya'll. I absolutely love Valentines Day. There. I said it. I also love love love to bake. Combine those two things and you have this amazing sugar cookie recipe. The cookies come out perfectly cookie cuttered (is that a word?) and simply divine.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The best part? Littles LOVE them and this years batch was so fun to make with Judah!!!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I've blogged the whole recipe for you and trust me when I say you'll want to keep it and use it again and again 🙌🏻💌🍫🤍
Y’all Valentines Day is my forever favorite but Y’all Valentines Day is my forever favorite but someone *me* forgot to set up a baby sitter for our date night and now Dave and I are going to celebrate from home.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Never fear though-- because one of our FAVORITE ways to "date each other from home " just came in the mail!!!!!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We just received our newest box from HelloFresh and are planning a romantic night in this weekend. I am so excited. I absolutely love to cook, but its so convenient when I don't have to prep anything ahead of time. Dave thoroughly enjoys helping cook but he's a man who needs everything laid out in front of him. That's why 9 times out of 10 Dave is the one leading in cooking our HelloFresh meals while I take a backseat and let him lead. Dave directs, while I cut, slice and take direction. I'll sip something sparkling while he wears one of my aprons as music plays over the record player.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This Valentines Day you can find Dave and I eating in, and snuggled up 💌🥂🍫🌹

Want to try @hellofresh ?! I can save you $40 ! Link in profile 🥂
It’s been a week, & I truly thought the words wo It’s been a week, & I truly thought the words would have come by now.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Almost a year ago, my family & I joined thousands of other families across the country and began quarantining, wearing masks & being cautious. A deadly disease was on the rise, & we wanted to do our part.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A few days ago, that disease took the life of someone so special to me. She was a client, a fellow wedding vendor & a friend.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Heather was someone who would hug you as soon as she met you. She had this way of being honest, sincere & heartfelt in all that she did. She loved her friends, served her clients faithfully & did it all with the love of her life by her side.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The two of them brought so many wedding days & memorable moments to life for their clients. It doesn’t seem real that she’s gone. I’ll miss her so much. Her hugs, her laughter & her conversation....Stay safe, my sweet friends 🤍
Happy Birthday, my love.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You are my hero, my best friend & my favorite person.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thank you for sharing life with me, loving our family & always standing up for what is right in the most beautiful way.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You are the horizon , & I am the sea 🤍
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
(Sorry I’m a day late, but you won’t even see this until like 72628482 weeks from now.😉)
hey friend 👋🏻 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I hey friend 👋🏻
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I hope wherever you are, you feel as bundled & cozy as we do! We are preparing for a huge snow storm to hit, & I am so excited for Judah’s first *real* snow experience. (I mean can you even handle imagining his bundled chubby toddler self, with his happy dimples cheeks & red nose ?! 😆😍)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Anyways, if you’re new here, I’m Anna. A wife to Dave, momma to Judah & professional photog- I love life & capturing as much of it as I can !!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Over the next few days I’ll be watching for snow & thinking of creative ways to keep our toddler occupied while we are snowed in !! Any ideas ?! ❄️
Life is beautiful. It’s exotic & wonderful, full Life is beautiful. It’s exotic & wonderful, full of adventure& full of love. As we learn, as we grow, it just gets sweeter, more enriched.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You will go through hard things. Sometimes those hard things seem overwhelming & unavoidable.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But... love. Love makes the hard things meaningful.
I’ve been quiet. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Lif I’ve been quiet.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Life is full of ups & downs & I don’t just want to showcase the ups to you. I want to be honest , real. There is a power in being real. It connects us to people. But I havent known what to say. 🤍
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You have been so sweet to message & check in. Dave & I have been in a season of waiting, hoping, & praying. We prayed for a miracle. We hoped for a positive outcome... and when we heard what we hoped we would not hear... our hearts broke.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Grief is such a strange thing. One minute you’re fine & the next you’re on the floor. It comes in waves, crashing hard one moment, & pulling away, barely there the next.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Grief cannot be explained, but neither can the peace that comes with it when Jesus is who you’re clinging too in the midst of it all. I told a friend this week “In so many seasons, I have asked God, ‘WHERE ARE YOU?!’ But in this season, I know exactly where he is. He’s here with me, in the midst of all of my pain, he won’t let go of me. He mourns with me, & his love is the hug that my soul craves.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In the midst of the peace & the ever crashing emotions, It’s okay to not be okay.
It’s okay to cry.
It’s okay to say, “ I can’t right now.”
It’s okay to be silent.
It’s okay to want to talk about it.
It’s okay to not say all the right things.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To friends who wonder HOW to handle when a love one grieves, all I can say is show up. Let them be their tangled mess, but also, let them know you’re there. Send the flowers or make a meal, offer conversation & don’t be offended when they don’t know what to do or say.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Let them be not okay with you.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To my friends who find themselves grieving, I understand the weight of loss. I feel the depths of it with you. It’s okay to not be okay. You can be not okay with me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But also... never forget...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One day, you will be 🤍
