Savannah Rei - Anna Filly Photography

People inspire me ever so much. I’ve always been a people person, and I’ve always enjoyed getting the chance to make a new friend. A few years ago I met Savannah. We met at a christian summer camp called MFuge. I was a youth leader, and she, a student.

I remember introducing myself to her, smiling from ear to ear unafraid to start a conversation. Savannah laughed-her unique & adorable, head thrown back laugh- and said I looked waaaayyy to happy.

Later that night we sat together at dinner and Savannah said she had forgotten my name. I looked at her, smiled and said “It’s Anna, A-n-n-a, after tonight, you’ll never forget that, cause soon we’ll be bff’s.” Of course, I really didn’t know that my words to her that night would one day ring true. But they have.

Savannah is an incredible girl. That week at Mfuge two summers ago, she accepted Christ to be her Savior. I have watched her grow leaps and bounds. She is SO talented, so beautiful, and not at all afraid to be different from the world. The perfect example of Romans 12:2.

She leads worship at a ministry called ROCSoild, and boy does she do an incredible job. Her voice is soulful, her heart like gold, and her love for Jesus, contagious.

She’s never afraid to ask anything- and I love that about her. She asked me while we were taking these pictures, why I liked photography so much. It took me a moment to put my thoughts into words….

Photography is the chance to create beauty, simply by capturing it. God has created beautiful and wonderful things around every corner. The magic comes when people see those things and take a moment to appreciate the way they were formed & put together.
